The Evolution of Physical Fitness

Just like everything natural, physical fitness is not an invention of the brilliant intellect of any individual. No one can ever admit the concept as his own and dispute anyone elses claim. While many fitness buffs and experts have thrown in their ideas to develop it to the level of science, introducing various effective techniques, physical fitness, as a whole, remains public. It was never really, singularly or collectively, invented. It evolved along with the development of humankinds production for food and survival against the elements of nature.
Early humans never needed to exercise to keep themselves fit and healthy. If for that, you would want to live in those times then think again since their lifestyle was more demanding than your fitness routine. They had to hunt almost manually for food, which required more muscles than you could imagine. Their women did what you today call as back breaking work. Their kids developed muscles early enough to shame todays adult. There was no food preservative to speak of and mentioning bad cholesterol would just get wild guffaws. Their appetite for raw meat was complemented with work that quadruples your normal workout.
As time went by, with humankinds ability to develop the tools for production, machines were invented to make lives easier. Agriculture flourished and hunting as a main occupation waned until it became a mere hobby. Manufacture developed until the invention of modern machines fueled industrialization. Industrialization even advanced further with the entry of high technology. With modern machines and computer technology, manual or physical labor diminished as mental activity became more dominant. Now, in the advanced industrial countries such as the US, the typical working person does not have the muscled and fit figure. He is usually the overweight, bespectacled, and computer-literate stereotype often seen in family sitcoms.
The fast food of the present makes it even harder for you to get the fit body you want. Not only does this lack fiber, it is loaded with fat and cancerous chemical derivatives posing as ingredients. The primitive mans diet of raw venison or boar meat can be just as sinful as your ice cream or burger though.
However, he would lose easily all the fat he had taken by just hunting for the next meal while fast food cholesterol just settles comfortably in you as watch television. Every modern household has, in fact, a fridge loaded with bad cholesterol, making it any fitness buffs forbidden zone.
In the face of health hazards, men began to rethink about their lifestyle. The rise of cardio-vascular diseases urged them to check on their activities and diet. This resulted into the evolution of physical fitness pursuits. Exercises to develop muscles and lose fat were introduced so that they could overcome the physical inertness so often related to deskwork and fast food diet. They now need to balance work with physical fitness activities and a healthy diet. These are some rudimentary information about home fitness that you can find online.
